Events taking place in the Caribbean all year round in 2017
Caribbean tourism in 2017 can be expected to be at its highest point, with a year filled with exciting events taking place around the region: from Carnival celebrations, to Sailing Weeks, the Crop Over Festival at Barbados, and fantastic music festivals or patron saints’ festivals, every month brings at least one fun celebration worth attending.
January was quite an eventful month, with the renowned Championship Bahamas at Paradise Island, but it is now already behind us. Looking to the near future, both the Saint Thomas International Regatta Stir and the BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival in the British Virgin Islands are just around the corner. Fans of yachting and water sports cannot miss these two events, both of which take place at the end of March.
In addition to this, between February and March, many locations around the Caribbean celebrate the traditional Carnival festivities, including Martinique, St Martin, Belize, Aruba and, of course, Trinidad and Tobago. The Grand Bahama Carnival kicks off on April 14, while the main event is going to be celebrated in Nassau from May 4-6
